Bears in the Summit

Bears in the Summit is a community art project organized by The Gathering Place in Clarks Summit, PA. Artists were selected to paint foam archery target bears, which were sponsored by local businesses. My bear is inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead. It features bright, vivid flowers and a sugar skull motif. He is on display at Curl Up & Dye Hair Salon.

Several local news outlets covered the project:

Many writers are scattered across the United States, while others are on different continents. This zine aimed to produce a snapshot of life during this massive shared experience.
